In its eighth year of cultural activities, the Rapsani Guesthouse of the Self-Help Promotion Program of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki has prepared a rich programme of events and invites you from 1 to 24 August in the beautiful village of Rapsani.

Systematically, from 2016 until today, many events are organized in Rapsani, throughout the year. These actions aim to highlight the history and culture of the region, to promote the community – collective character, the reflection and discussion on the development potential of the place. They present important issues related to art, education, culture, the environment and current social and political issues.

The events are organized with the active participation and cooperation of various institutions and associations, as well as the residents of the area and culminate in the summer months, especially in August. So this year, during the month of August, there will be a variety of events in different parts of Rapsani, which are addressed to everyone, regardless of age and without any financial burden. This month is full of educational, ecological, recreational and cultural activities, which will introduce children and adults to interesting practices and current social issues.

Of particular importance for the realization of the actions, is our cooperation with the Rapsani Municipal Library. We warmly thank the Women’s Association, the Cultural Association of Rapsani and all the contributors of this year’s actions for their warm and selfless response to our call.

With the village being a short distance from the nearby urban centers and the surrounding areas, we are looking forward to welcoming you all, residents of Rapsani and non residents, to spend an August full of entertainment and creativity!

Self-Help Promotion Program

The Self-Help Promotion Program bases its mode of operation on contemporary critical approaches to the science of Psychology and other social sciences, as well as the field of addictions. Based on these approaches, the program emphasises the social, political and cultural dimensions of the causes of the problem of addiction and other psychosocial problems. At the same time, people and their needs are placed at the centre of the interventions implemented, with their emancipation and the recovery of their dignity as the main priorities. The central pillars of the interventions carried out by the program are the concept of self-help/mutual aid and the protagonist role of those directly concerned.
